Main Story
The Chairman of P-GAT Industries Ltd, Mr Prime Timothy, has announced plans to roll out a ₦300 billion mobility project aimed at improving transportation systems and promoting electric mobility in Nigeria.
Speaking on Monday at a news conference in Numan, Adamawa State, Timothy disclosed the investment alongside the announcement of the 2026 ATRaS Mobility Transition Summit and the ₦300 billion Fleet Integration and Transition Programme. He stated that the project would support the adoption of electric mobility, expansion of charging infrastructure, and modernisation of transport systems, while also creating economic opportunities. According to him, about ₦150 billion, representing 50 per cent of the funding, has been earmarked for the North-East over three years.
Timothy said the initiative is expected to generate about 50,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs across transport, logistics, technology and renewable energy sectors. He noted that rising transport costs have continued to affect productivity and access to markets, making intervention in the sector necessary. The ATRaS Mobility Transition Summit is scheduled for June 20 in Numan, where stakeholders are expected to explore solutions to transportation challenges. He explained that a major highlight of the summit would be the unveiling of the ATRaS Mobility Ecosystem, which integrates electric mobility, financing, charging infrastructure, logistics and driver empowerment programmes.
The chairman also commended ongoing security efforts in the North-East, saying improved stability is encouraging investment and economic activity in the region. He said collaboration among government, security agencies, traditional institutions and communities had helped strengthen peace and development efforts. Timothy urged investors and development partners to explore opportunities in the region, noting that sectors such as agriculture, logistics, renewable energy, manufacturing and infrastructure hold strong potential.
