Chelsea’s Hazard Debunks Transfer Rumours

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has debunked rumours that he has agreed to join Real Madrid next season contrary to reports that emanated from Spain.

The reports claimed that Hazard would leave Stamford Bridge for Santiago Bernabau at the end of the season.

The Belgian forward, who has missed Chelsea’s last four matches due to a hip injury, said he is ready to return to Chelsea, although stopped short of completely ruling out a move at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old outgoing players’ and writers’ Footballer of the Year said: “I don’t know who is saying that, but it’s not true. At the moment, I’m at Chelsea.”

“First I have to finish the season and I still have a contract for four years. I’m there and I’m currently feeling good over there. I want to be on the pitch as soon as possible – with Chelsea.”

With Chelsea set to undertake a major team reconstruction under incoming manager Antonio Conte, Hazard could be one of those heading for the Stamford Bridge exit, but he says his loyalties remain with Chelsea and admitted he could stay for the duration of his contract, which expires in 2020.

The Belgian International has previously admitted that he doesn’t know what the future holds in terms of remaining with the outgoing Premier League champions, but his latest comments suggest he could yet remain with the Blues next season.
