Bauchi Govt To Invest N500b on Capital Projects

The Bauchi State Government has approved the execution of some projects in parts of the state in order to provide democracy dividends to the electorate.
The projects includes the rehabilitation of some damaged electricity high-tension line along Misau – Giade road axis and the provision of electricity supply to some villages along the line at a total cost of N161,591,407.19k.
The Special Adviser to the state governor on Media and Strategy, Ali Mohammed Ali, revealed that the council also approved the sum of N114,183,384 for the electrification of Sha’iska, Yelwan Bango and Pali villages in the state.
Ali disclosed that the sum of N119, 395, 271.65k was also approved for the electrification of Jalingo, Yala, Yola and Masuri villages in Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
He stated that the government desirous of entrenching a culture of accountability and transparency, as well as improving the quality of service delivery in its workforce, approved the review of six regulatory books which were last reviewed in 2001, attributable to human nature which is dynamic.
“Also approved by the council is the review of 2006 policy on disposal of official vehicles in the state”, he said, noting that government vehicles were in the “past disposed at ridiculous rates, at the discretion of the man at the top, without determining the years of their usage.”
