Naira Slumps to N480/$ At Parallel Market

The Naira, on Tuesday, November 29, slumped further at the parallel exchanging at N480 to the U.S dollar.
Meanwhile, the local currency exchanged at N585 to one British Pound Sterling, while trading at N500 to the Euro.
The Nigerian currency had exchanged at the rate of N473 to the dollar at the parallel market on Monday, November 28, the same rate it exchanged for on Friday.
Following the fluctuations witnessed across segments of the foreign exchange, forex market, it s expected that the Naira may continue to slide.
These fluctuations were triggered by the recent raid of Bureau De Change operators in Lagos and Abuja by the operatives of the EFCC and the DSS.

 

Also, the naira traded at the rate of N585 to a British Pound Sterling, while it exchanged at N505 to the Euro at the Parallel Market. Also the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN has given security operatives to go head with the clampdown on illegal currency dealers.
