Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, continued northward movements on Wednesday, April 6, as the All Share Index jumped marginally by 0.004 per cent to close at 25,455.69 points.
This is compared to the increase of 0.42 per cent recorded on Tuesday, April 5 to close at 25,445.61 points.
The three most actively traded stocks were NEM Insurance, Sterling Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank
The day’s advancers were once again led by Nigerian Breweries Plc which added N1.41 to close at N108 per share, trailed by Etranzact with a gain of 29 kobo to close at N3.23 per share while Champion Breweries Plc gained 25 kobo to close at N3.1per share.
Tiger Brands Plc also grew by 18 kobo to close at N2.5 per share while FBNH Plc increased by 1 kobo to close at N3.5 per share.
On the other hand, 7up Plc topped the day’s price losers, declining by N7 to close at N147 per share, while Julius Berger Plc followed, dropping N1.8 to close at N43 per share as Ashaka Cement Plc lost N1.2 to close at N19.56 per share.
Aluminium Manufacturing Company (Alumaco) Plc and Portland Paints Plc likewise fell by 38 kobo and 29 kobo respectively to close at N7.37 and N2.75 per share respectively.
The total value of stocks traded was N885.63million, down by 11.94 per cent from N1.01billion recorded the preceding day.
