Union Bank Wins Big At MENA 2016

Union Bank's Gross Earnings Hits N208.2bn

Union Bank recently won two awards at the Transform Awards MENA 2016, which held at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Dubai on Thursday.

The recent rebrand by the bank was responsible as the bank won the award for “Best Brand Development to Reflect Changed Mission,Vision,Positioning” as well as “Best Visual Identity from the Financial Services Sector” against the likes of ABC, Commercial Bank of Dubai, MAF Finance, among others.

Organizers of the award, Transform Magazine, a leading authority in global rebranding and brand development, noted that the winners of the Transform Awards 2016 set the standard for rebranding and brand development on both a regional and international scale.

The bank in recent years has repositioned its vision and mission with an improved customer service experience. It has also played a vital role in SMEs financing, retail banking and commercial and corporate banking.

Speaking on the awards, Managing Director/Chief Executive, Union Bank, Mr. Emeka Emuwa said, “Our award winning identity reflects our new proposition to mzake banking simpler and smarter for our customers.”

Meanwhile, the Head of Retail Segment, SME, Mr. Rabiu Tata said the award is a clear indication that the bank’s transformation they have been working hard at for the last two years is yielding positive results and the bank is on the right path.

“Our goal is to build a simpler, smarter bank, focused on delivering value by providing quality financial solutions to its customers in retail, commercial and corporate banking segments across all industries,” he said.

He further explained that the Union Bank has been an avid supporter of small businesses throughout its history and this award shows that the bank would continue to do so. Small and Medium Enterprises are the engine of any economy and when they succeed, we succeed and Nigeria succeeds as a whole.”

Union Bank has always been a proud supporter of SME’s. In 2014, the bank was given the CBN’s Best-Support Bank on ACGSF (Agricultural Credit Guarantee Scheme for Farmers) award for the 8th consecutive year.
