Governor Olusegun Mimiko has revealed that no case of polio was recorded in Ondo State in the last seven years. He expressed government’s determination to partner relevant agencies to sustain the polio-free status of the state.
Speaking at the palace of the traditional ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, at an event marking this year’s World Polio Day organised by Rotary Club International, the governor said all would be done to keep the disease at bay in the state.
The monarch, who lauded Mimiko’s government for its giant strides, particularly in the area of health, expressed his readiness to support it to make more progress in the sector. He admonished his people on the need to immunise their children when necessary.
