NCS Seme Command Generates N1.26 Billion Revenue in Two Months

The Seme-Badagry Command of the Nigeria Customs Service(NCS), said it has generated into the Federal government coffers, a  total of N1,260,684,226.91 in the last two months of this year.

Comptroller Mohammed Uba Garba, the area controller of the Command, who disclosed this to journalists at Seme border  in Lagos, said officers and men of his command had in various operations taken full advantage of available  resources to increase revenue collection, suppression of smuggling, facilitation of legitimate trade and improving community services.

According to the Customs boss, the intensification of the operation of the enforcement unit of the Command, also led to the drastical reduction in smuggling activities, which he said reduced to the barest minimum at Seme border.

According to him, freight forwarding activities received a boost due to the standardised transit protocols in line with the international best practices.

He assured that the Command was working assiduously to guarantee a smoother experience by clearing the congestions within the shortest possible time.

The Customs Area Controller commended the EU/ECOWAS Commission for the continued support in the management of the Joint Border Post, adding that the achievement recorded so far was with tacit support the entire sister agencies both locally and internationally. He also commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali(rtd.), along with his management team for the support and provision of conducive environment to perform maximally.
