Following the news he had split with wife Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth is staying in Australia a little longer. The actor has been chilling down under with his brother Chris Hemsworth in Byron Bay.
Last week the pair were seen hanging 10 on some gnarly waves (*throws shaka*) before they then went and worked out because they’re bros by blood and bros in vibe.
However, following confirmation Liam and Miley have called time on their seven-month marriage and 10-year relationship it’s been reported the actor is laying low in Australia a little longer.
According to The Sun, 29-year-old Liam has extended his stay ‘from a planned three days to three weeks’ following his split.
We mean, fair play? Home is where the heart is, after all, and who better than Thor himself to cheer up your spirits. A source told the publication: ‘Their marriage is over and Liam is absolutely heartbroken but Miley is making up for lost time.
Liam’s been in Australia with brother Chris (Picture: 2019 Getty Images) ‘He wants to settle down and have a conventional family including kids, but that couldn’t be further from what Miley is after right now.
‘She made it clear she wanted to be able to have fun with other people — men and women — but it’s always been something he’s had a hard time understanding.
‘Now, it has all become too much and there is no way of making their relationship work at the moment.’ If we know anything about Chris (and it’s a lot, surely) it’s that if Thor can get himself back up after the initial fight against Thanos than Liam is going to be just fine.
The pair began dating after meeting in 2009 (Picture: Touchstone Pictures) It comes after reps for the 26-year-old pop star told People: ‘Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.
‘Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.’
A rep continued: ‘They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.’
Last week Miley was seen kissing Kaitlynn Carter in Lake Como’s Italy not long after she too announced the end of her marriage to The Hills’ Brody Jenner (who has been getting thirsty on the ‘gram in the aftermath).
Liam and Miley met in 2009 on the set of Nicholas Sparks’ The Last Song before Aussie actor Liam proposed in 2012.
The two broke up a year later before they reconciled in 2015 and married at their Tennessee home last year after the devastating loss of their Malibu home in the November 2018 Woolsey fire.
Miley had previously spoken about her marriage to 29-year-old Liam, labeling it ‘unique’ and admitting she didn’t fit into a ‘stereotypical’ wife role.
She shared to Elle: ‘I think it’s very confusing to people that I’m married. But my relationship is unique. And I don’t know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it’s so complex, and modern, and new that I don’t think we’re in a place where people would get it.
‘I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f***ing apron cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women.
