Union Bank Introduces SMS Banking

Union Bank's Gross Earnings Hits N208.2bn

After recently winning two awards in it’s new re-brand, Union Bank Plc has taken steps further into e-banking by following suite into SMS banking.

The SMS banking enable customers to do basic banking transactions such as checking of account balance, make cash transfer by simply dialing a USSD code on any phone without internet connection.

It will be noted that Guaranty Trust Bank has been the pioneer of SMS banking which you can open an account, check account balance, transfer funds by just dialing *737#.

Unon Bank PLC has followed suit with their latest introduction of SMS banking, into their banking system. However, unlike the GTB style of SMS banking, Union Bank has just one feature enabled in its SMS banking; which is the ”Check your balance” system.

According to them, other features like transfer funds, view transaction history, etc will be introduced with time.

For now, you can use your mobile phone to check your account balance on your Union bank account, without using the internet by just texting ”Bal” to 20123.

The old generation bank has so far lived up to it’s re-branding vision which seeks to take e-banking and retail banking to the next level in Nigeria.
