Trouble In FAAN Over Contract As Firm Threatens Director

Trouble is looming at Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) over the attempt by one of its directors to wash his hands off the handling of a N10m post construction cleaning contract of some wings at the Murtala Muhammad International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to reports, trouble started when the Director in charge of operations, Capt. Henry Omeogu wrote a memo to the management of FAAN indicting a firm, Lakewood Development for alleged poor handling of the contract .

Apparently, when the memo which was copied to senior management of the agency leaked, the firm quickly wrote to the director stating the facts while asking him to withdraw the memo or be sacked.

In the memo, the firm said contrary to the impression he gave in his memo, it was he who admitted that the firm which was earlier awarded the contract and which his wife had substantial interest could not do the job.
