Nollywood Actor, Kanayo Launches Academy

Nollywood actor, Anayo Modestus Onyekwere popularly known as, Kanayo .O. Kanayo has launched his own academy, named – Kanayo .O. Kanayo Mentoring Academy (KOKMA), on Thursday in Lagos State, saying its his own way of giving back to the society.

Speaking on the school, he said ‘KOKMA’ was about mentoring the younger ones, “It is a way of giving back to the society.”

He said, the objective of the academy would be to let the young ones know that, they can be whatever they desired to be in life, hence they must be guided in order not to allow any circumstances to limit their desire to excel in life.

The 54 years old Nollywood star urged Nigerians to enroll in his academy for the upcoming school year.

Kanayo who had starred in over 100 films made his debut appearance in the film titled ‘Living In Bondage’ 24 years ago has several industry awards to his credit.

In 2006 he won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

He is currently a United Nations ambassador and was among some Nigerians honoured by the government in 2014 during the centenary celebration with the national title of MFR along with Kenneth Nnebue (producer of Living In Bondage) and another actor, Olu Jacobs.
