NCAA Warns Airlines Against Ticket Sales During Aviation Fuel Shortage

Following the increasing reports of flight cancellations and delays, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has warned airlines against selling tickets during fuel scarcity.

The Aviation authority stated that it had been flooded with several reports from the Consumer Protection Officers, CPOs, and aggrieved passengers from across the nation’s airports.

General Manager, Public Relations of NCAA, Sam Adurogboye said despite the prevailing challenge over fuel, the airlines should follow the requirements of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig.CARs) in carrying out their operations.

It also advised operators to ensure tickets are not sold to air travelers when there are hitches concerning sourcing of aviation fuel.

The NCAA said it was aware of this challenge, however, the airlines should deal with the issues in line with regulatory requirements.
