Med-View Airline Plans West African Expansion to Freetown, Others

One of Nigerian major carriers’, Med-View Airline, has unveiled plans to make its Accra, Ghana operations, which it launched in September 2014.

To this end, the airline has completed arrangement to begin operations to Freetown, Sierra Leone in May 2016.

The Sierra Leone addition would increase its regional route from one to two while those of Dakar, Senegal; Monrovia, Liberia; Abidjan, Cote D’Voire would follow in due course via Accra.

The airline Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Muneer Bankole, who spoke at the weekend in Accra, Ghana during the airline’s Trade Partners’ Forum with Travel Agents in the West African country.

The MD who was represented by the company’s Head of Flights’ Operations, Capt. Godfrey Ogbogu stressed that the airline is expanding to Ghana to deepen trade relations between the two countries, saying Nigeria and Ghana are like twin brothers.

He said the meeting with the travel agents underscores the importance the airline places on them as essential partners, saying Med-View is ready to build an enduring and open partnership with the travel agents.

“Med-View sees Accra as our home. We look forward for more cooperation and we are open for discussions any time. We have no hidden agenda. Accra will be a stepping stone towards the west. The market is expanding rapidly for all of us. We are going to London-Gatwick, we started Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and we would be opening up more routes. including Dubai very soon”.
