Katsina, Pakistan To Partner In Agric, Education

The Katsina State Governor, Gov. Aminu Masari, has said the state Government is ready to enter into partnership with Pakistan to develop Agriculture, Water, Science and Technical sectors.

Masari made this known when the Pakistani High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Agah Farouk paid him a courtesy visit on Monday in Katsina.

“The Katsina government is 100 per cent ready to partner with Pakistan to develop its critical sectors.”

“We are aware that Pakistan has all the technical expertise in the areas of health, water resources and science as well as technical education.”

“Katsina government needs the assistance of Pakistan to bring medical consultants that will assist general hospitals in the state to provide medical service.”

“We are ready to work with the Pakistani government so as to develop our state in the areas of provision of foundation education in Primary and Secondary schools.”

The governor said that the state government was in dire need of the assistance of Pakistan to introduce mechanised farming.

Masari said that Nigerian and Pakistani Nationals had a long relationship spanning over four decades.

Earlier, the Pakistani Higher Commissioner to Nigeria, Farouk, said that the Pakistani government was ready to assist both Nigeria and Katsina state governments to develop their critical sectors for overall development.

“We are ready to assist Nigeria to tackle the Boko-Haram insecurity as we have the experience and the military technical knowledge, ‘’ he said.

Farouk commended the state government for taking giant strides in the area of water supply, health and agriculture.
