Ekundayo To Defend African Union Boxing Title In London

Larry “The Natural” Ekundayo, Nigeria’s undefeated African Boxing Union Champion, is set to defend his title against Tanzania’s Saidi Mundi at York Hall in London on June 4.

In a statement by Sola Rogers, media consultant to Ekundayo, the fight is expected to be an “explosive showdown”.

“The Tanzanian champion, Mundi, who has an impressive ring record of 14 wins and two losses under his belt, will be meeting the African champion in an explosive encounter,” the statement said.

It said the bout promises to be an exciting and thrilling display of talented African pugilists.

It was already revealed that the event will be attended by Nigerian celebrities who are great supporters of Ekundayo.

Rogers called for the support of Nigerians towards ensuring Ekundayo’s victory over Mundi.

He said the victory would propel the Nigerian boxer for world rankings ahead of a potential title fight scheduled for Oct. 1 in Nigeria.
