The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed 555 new cases of COVID-19 in the country.
The latest cases bring the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country to 40,532.
According to the NCDC, “On the 26th of July 2020, 555 new confirmed cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, 40,532 cases have been confirmed, 17,374 cases have been discharged and 858 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory”.
The NCDC said the new cases were recorded in 17 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Giving a breakdown of the cases, the NCDC noted that Lagos, the country’s epicentre for the virus continues to account for the highest infections per state with 156 new cases.
