BizWatch Nigeria recalls that this is not the first incident happening in Sokoto.
In May, 2022 a student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto was killed by some muslims for allegedly blasphemy.
Deborah, the student, was allegedly attacked by an enraged mob after making words deemed insulting to Prophet Mohammed.
The trouble allegedly began when the lady was asked by her coworkers how she managed to pass her tests.
The late student, who was thought to be a Christian, was said to have credited her academic success to Jesus.
It was gathered that the mob was irritated by her response and was asked to remove the comments, which she rejected.
According to a report seen, this prompted the mob to attack her and then set fire to her body.
“She was having an argument with some of her schoolmates over their ongoing examination and when she was asked how she managed to pass her exams, she said it was Jesus.
“She was asked to withdraw the statement and apologise which she refused.
“The school security intervened, and took her to their post but they were overpowered by students after which she was killed in the process. After killing her, her body was burnt on the school premises.”
