Shares in HTC Soar 9.96% on Google’s Pixel buyout

Shares in Taiwanese technology company HTC Corp (2498.TW) jumped 9.96 pct in early trading on Friday.

HTC Corp announced on Thursday that Alphabet Inc’s Google (GOOGL.O) would pay $1.1 billion for the division at HTC that develops the U.S. firm’s Pixel smartphones.

Alphabet Inc’s (GOOGL.O) Google is close to acquiring assets of Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp (2498.TW), Bloomberg reported, citing a person familiar with the matter.
