Major oil marketers in the country such as Conoil, Oando and Mobil have cut the pump price of petrol below N145/litre.The development came as the marketers tackle uphill competition and low patronage from motorists, Daily Trust reports.
The price reduction came in spite of recent kicks by the marketers for a removal of price cap on petrol and scarcity of dollar for fuel import. Some marketers gave an indication that competition would force down the price of petrol in the near future.
It was however not confirmed if the price reduction cut across their outlets nationwide, but some stations in Abuja, Kogi and states in the North-central were now hosting banners advertising that petrol price was now N141 and N143/litre.
