New Infrastructure In Kano Will Attract Foreign Investors – Ganduje

The Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has affirmed  that his resolve to provide new public infrastructure and upgrade existing ones is not only aimed at improving the welfare of the citizenry, but to also attract direct foreign investment.

He mentioned this while inspecting the construction of Gidan Boss Road, Sharada/Mabobi Underpass, the Ultra-Modern Skills Acquisition Centre, and the first phase of the 2,000 housing units at Amana City. He further assured that the projects would change the face of Kano.

The governor emphasised that all the on-going projects would be executed according to specification and would go a long way in easing transportation and improving economic activities in Kano city, which is fast becoming a mega city.

“Business activities in Kano state are no longer for the inhabitants alone, people within and outside the country, especially from West and Central Africa, do business in the state. Now, we want to attract more people from other parts of the world to come and enjoy the lucrative business environment in the state,” Ganduje reaffirmed.

Ganduje reiterated that his administration plans to transform the state into a true mega city by providing modern infrastructure similar to other developing nations, and pointed out that the Sharada/Madobi underpass was for instance, one of the structures found in cities like Dubai.

He stressed that when completed, the underpass would apart from beautifying the state, facilitate unhindered transportation, and promised that Panshekara Road, which is linked to the bridge, would also be dualized. He also revealed that the Gidan Boss Road which links the Katsina Road to the Kofar Mazugal, would provide a short cut for motorists, pointing out that automobile and mechanical businesses that are being conducted in the area would equally be enhanced.
