Stock Investment Shrinks By N259billion As Investors’ Confidence Dwindles

Equity investment on the Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday, June 1, recorded a fresh loss of N259 billion at the close of trading as market capitalization closed 2.73 per cent lower.

As a result of the decline, stocks’ value of the market closed at N9.242 trillion, compared with the N9.501 trillion it closed on Tuesday, May 31.

However, turnover closed positive as traded volume and value soared by 5.15 and 22.38 per cent respectively.

As the market closed on the red territory, 35 stocks depreciated in share price, while 24 other stocks gained traction to end the day by adding value to their respective per share prices.
