The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dayo Mobereola, has urged Christians across the country to utilise the Easter celebration as a period of sober reflection, renewed faith, and spiritual rejuvenation.
In his Easter message, through a press statement signed the Deputy Director and Head of Public Relations, NIMASA, Osagie Edward, by on Sunday, Mobereola highlighted the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that the season embodies enduring values such as sacrifice, hope, and renewal. He encouraged Christians to deepen their faith in God while maintaining hope for a better Nigeria.
The NIMASA boss expressed optimism that the Easter celebration would inspire renewed purpose, fresh beginnings, and a strengthened commitment to service to both the nation and humanity.
He further charged Christians to uphold virtues exemplified by Christ, including love, compassion, discipline, empathy, and sacrifice, stressing that such values are fundamental to fostering patriotism and driving national growth and development.
Mobereola also called on all Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation, to imbibe the lessons of Easter and work collectively towards building a safer, more prosperous nation.
According to Mobereola, “The Easter celebration, which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, should inspire renewed purpose, fresh beginnings, and continued sacrifice in service to the nation and humanity.”
He added that the values of love, compassion, and discipline remain critical to national development and social cohesion.
