BON Hotels Opens in Nigeria

Hospitality and Tourism Development Group, BON Hotels has launched its activities in Nigeria, with the company promising to deepen the hospitality and tourism sectors with the establishment of 37 new hotels across the country.

Speaking during the official launch of the company in Abuja, the  Executive Chairman of BON Hotels International West Africa, Mr Otto Stehlik, said  BON  Hotel group which operates all over Africa including in south Africa, Namibia and Ethiopia, has witnessed phenomenal growth since its inception in 2012.

He said over the past ten years that the hotel has undertaken an aggressive rebranding and refurbishment campaign of their hotels in Nigeria, offering in the process, personal, friendly and efficient services that are synonymous with BON Hotels operating standards.

According to him, the strategy the company has adopted is to be competitive in its offerings, service delivery and price, in order to create a four star standard international Nigerian hotel chain. It will also create a tourism circuit that caters to all markets, the inter-regional businessman, the international and Nigerian local travellers, tourists and the leisure sector with alternatives designed to meet their requirements.

Explaining that the group have rolled out the upgrades with minimum fuss, Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Guy Stehlik, noted the hotels are all operating as usual, with all the staff and general managers remaining in place.

He said what BON Hotels does is to take the best systems and knowledge of what has worked in the past and combine it with a progressive approach that works for the establishments that are managed, hotels owners and guests.

“We are personally invested in the hotel business. Hospitality is the family business. I grew up in that and have lived and whole heartedly absorbed it. I a committed to putting my knowledge and years of experience in the hotel industry into delivering a more relevant, modern approach that is right for the times, right for the hotels and hotel owners within the BON Group and absolutely right for our guests”, the Chief Executive Officer said.

Stehlik pointed out that the group remains committed to training and empowerment of Nigerians and significant social investments with its BONangels platform that is focused on supporting local communities through charity drives and events.

Commenting on the significance of the event, African Hospitality Industry Expert and a Director of BON Hotels, Mr. Bernard Cassar, said with many larger groups exiting their business interests in Nigeria, the company believes now is the time to support the country that has given decades of success to the industry.

Cassar explained that the group will continue to add value to the local hospitality industry, guests, staff and suppliers, including the communities in which they serve and operate.
