Banking Stocks Sustain Rally in Stock Market With 0.58% Gain

Performance of banking stocks on the floor of the Nigerian Bourse has remained impressive as the sector climbed higher for the second consecutive trading session.

The NSE Banking Index-which tracks the banking sector, sustained modest uptrend on the back of gains by many banks.

The Banking Index jumped by 0.58 per cent on Wednesday, May 11, almost on the same level with the day-on-day gain of 0.6 per cent recorded on Tuesday.

This development in the sector came amid the sustained slide in the overall market position at the NSE in the past two trading sessions.
