Jigawa state government has announced its determination to spend over N115 billion to complete all the ongoing road projects across the state.
The state governor, Alhaji Badaru Ibrahim revealed this while inspecting some road projects awarded by his government. He noted that most of the road projects to be completed were inherited from the past administration.
According to him, his government agreed to continue the projects after reviewing the contract and the approval of the contractors to give discount of 15 percent from the initial cost awarded by the immediate past administration.
“After discussion and re-negotiation with the contractor, we now save over N15 billion from the contract awarded by the last administration”
“Many of those contractors have already resume works at their various site, and by what we have seen from projects we inspected in the north east senatorial district of the state we are satisfied with the quality of works done by the contractors,” he said.
The contractor handling the eastern by pass linking the Jigawa east senatorial district and Jigawa western senatorial district and represented by Mr. Shan Bingyin, assure the governor of the completion of the work in good time and in accordance with contract agreement.
