Mrs Ify Afe, the Managing Director, HP Incorporated, an arm of Hewlett Packard (HP) on Sunday said that the company had streamlined its activities to ensure better productivity.
Afe, who said this in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the decision to streamline the company for better productivity had led to numerous innovations and partnerships.
According to her, the decision to streamline the company for better productivity is born out of the split that took place in HP.
NAN reports that HP which had been split into Hewlett and Packard Enterprise and HP Incorporated have two centralised directions.
The directions are that of a hybrid company focused on workplace productivity and infrastructure, and one headed into the 3D printing industry, integrating their PC market share into that arena as well.
“In streamlining HP Incorporated, the right set of skilled persons who are experts and specialists in those areas are employed to bring better output at the end of the day.”
“HP Incorporated will be focusing on computing, printing, mobile devices and solutions behind each of them,” it said.
Afe noted that the productivity of HP Incorporated had given rise to new innovations like 3D printing, Page wide technology in the area of computing, and the world’s thinnest PC.
The managing director also listed other innovations as; Spectre Laptop, Elite X3, Z-Book, and HP Elite Pad among others.
According to her, the printing technology is designed with five key pillars such as; productivity, security, cost of production, space and energy with the application having a complete portfolio to cover.
She added that the main focus of the innovations was not on the size, but rather on an improved productivity of the product, citing an example of a desktop that could be able to do many functions including the 3D scanning ability.
Afe said the HP Incorporated also introduced a Counterfeiting and Fraud (ACF) programme aimed at safeguarding its esteemed customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from purchasing fake products.
She urged customers to always buy their products from authorised HP dealers and to call the company’s free Customer Delivery Inspection when in doubt of products bought.
Afe stated that as part of efforts to give back to the society, HP Incorporated had a partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) to assist youths that were in need.
“The HP Life UNIDO Partnership programme is aimed at capturing youths who are in confinement or are in the needs market where they are not able to use the right products.”
“A lot of these youths who are part of the Programmes audience have gone out of school, so they do not see how they can move their business from one level to the other.
“To make sure that these youths are shown what they can do to build and sustain their establishment is what we are trying to do with HP LifeProgramme” she said.
