Assembly Urges Kwara To Provide Transformers

The Kwara State Government has been urged to make provision in the 2017 budget for installation of about 105 electricity transformers distributed to communities.

This is part of resolutions by the House of Assembly following a matter of general public importance raised by a member representing Kaiama/Wajibe/ Kamanji Constituency, Ahmed Ibn Mohammed, on vandalism on some transformers procured in 2014 due to non- installation.

The Deputy Speaker, Elder Matthew Okedare said the state government should make it a priority to ensure that more communities have access to electricity.

It also received a petition on the need to compel Kwara State University to put to use the forest earlier allocated to Tate and Lyle, which endangers the lives of the people.
