Prof. Ayodeji Badejo, the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, will officially assume office on Sept. 20, the university has announced.
The university’s Deputy Registrar and Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas Onashile, disclosed this on Wednesday evening.
Badejo will succeed Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello, whose five year tenure as vice chancellor ends with her retirement.
Her appointment was made by Gov. Babajide Sanwo Olu of Lagos State and announced in a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, on Wednesday.
Thomas Onashile said the appointment followed the provisions of the LASU Law 2004, as amended.
Badejo, born on Aug. 4, 1962, is a professor of Guidance and Counselling. She obtained her doctorate in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos and also holds a Master of Education in the same field from the institution.
