Power Generation Crashes to 3,228Megawatts

The 3,521.90megawatts of electricity which was generated on Sunday,September 4, dipped to 3,228Mw, on Tuesday, September 6, resulting in 293Mw drop in power produced by the generation companies, GENCO.

The Nigerian Electricity System Operator, SO, of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, stated this on its website on Tuesday.

The SO noted that the lowest energy generation was 3,108.90Mw, peak power generation was 3,696.90Mw while total energy sent out was 3283.7Mw.

The highest frequency recorded on the day under review was 51.62Hz while the lowest frequency was 48.88Hz. The power sector had on Sunday sent out 3,192.72Mw , which was a 90Mw drop in power supplied to the 11 distribution company (DisCo) within 24 hours.
