FCT Administration has flagged off massive rehabilitation of roads within the Federal Capital City, Abuja aimed at instilling high maintenance culture and improving transport infrastructure.
The FCT minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello disclosed this when he paid an unscheduled visit to portions of road being rehabilitated and re-surfaced around the National Assembly Complex and the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
Bello charged the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) to ensure that bad roads in other districts of the city are urgently fixed for the rainy season.
He commended the FCDA and Arab Contractors for the prompt rehabilitation of the access road linking the office of the Secretary to the Government Federation to the National Assembly Complex. The portion of the road is usually in a sorry state whenever it rains.
He specifically lauded the drainage system introduced on the road to redirect storm water into nearby stream to prevent flooding of the main access road.
