AMCON Appoints New M.D. to Spearhead Rehabilitation of Aero Contractors

The Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), on Saturday, appointed Mr Tunde Fagbemi as the new managing director of the embattled Aero Contractors, saying that the new airline’s boss will lead an industry-based management team to provide the highest level of professional competence which would ensure a quick revitalization of the company.

AMCON announced on Friday, that it had taken over the airline 100 per cent as a creditor and manager and on Saturday appointed Fagbemi who was formerly the chief executive officer of Maevis Nigeria Limited as the new managing director.

Fagbemi has been around in the aviation industry and has garnered experience providing the first IT-based passenger facilitation system at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, which reduced the time spent by passengers before they are checked in to their flights.

The AMCON on Friday said that it decided to make changes in the management of the airline to protect the brand heritage of the airline.
