‘Mall visiting’ has been the in-thing for a couple of years now. The successes recorded by various malls as regards shopping in Nigeria have been tremendous. Now, pause for a minute and remember how it all started. I’ll refresh your memory. The Shopping Mall revolution started with the introduction of Lagos City Mall providing the perfect environment for hanging out and shopping. Right now, lots of malls have flooded major business districts across Nigeria.

I’ll be focusing on Lagos City Mall which has fully rebranded to provide the perfect mall experience. Here are some reasons why you should visit Lagos City Mall today:

  • Movies are Super Cheap: I have noticed a lot of Social Media activity around the Lagos City Mall, Onikan recently, and I decided to check why they have become quite aggressive in their marketing campaigns. I visited Genesis Deluxe Cinemas at the Lagos City Mall (Or LCM as they would prefer it to be called). I noticed that the prices on the brochure for movies were quite cheap compared to other GDC outlets in Lagos. On Mondays – for example, movie tickets were going for as low as N600, without an I.D card. On Tuesday, with a Fidelity bank card, you get to watch movies for N500. How awesome is that?

So, if you are looking to watch movies on a tight budget, the Lagos City Mall could just be your best bet.

  • Tight Security: I was amazed at the way in which the security guards at Lagos City Mall were always on routine checks around the car parks to make sure that all cars were safe from theft. At this rate, one could park his car and not worry about his valuables or his car getting stolen.
  • Shopping Variety: It was interesting to know that you could get just about anything based on your budget. I mean, you could visit the TM Lewin shop for some quality shirts at a not-so-expensive price, or if you wanted more quality, there was the Grosvenor shop. The Lagos City Mall had shops for different classes of people.
  • Hang-out spot: So you just finished from work and you didn’t want to face the traffic going home? There is a bar just beside the car park where you can relax, have some drinks and watch football matches with your friends. The bar is always filled with people during evenings.
