The Federal Government, on Saturday signed a fresh deal with France on strengthening bilateral ties in areas of Science and Technology to tackle the security challenges in the country.
The deal was reached when the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Danys Gauer visited the minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu in Abuja.
The minister revealed that Science and Technology is a major focus of this administration’s commitment to make positive impact on the people of Nigeria, he also expressed his appreciation on the existing relationship between Nigeria and France.
Meanwhile, Gauer disclosed that the French President will visit Nigeria later this month for a regional summit which is expected to bring out ideas on how to improve security, space and satellite activities to all investors.
According to the Ambassador, the summit is expected to provide the framework for activities like training and exchange of ideas, the first regional summit was held in Paris two years ago. He reiterated the commitment of the French government to develop space activities and security in developing countries.
