Manchester City

Manchester City are set to reward midfielder Bernardo Silva with a new six-year contract, Sky Sports News understands.

Silva has been in impressive form this season, scoring five goals and dishing out seven assists in 28 Premier League appearances and securing a more regular starting role in Pep Guardiola’s side.

The Portugal midfielder arrival at City from Monaco in 2017 for £43m but only became a regular starter in the City side from December that year as they stormed to the Premier League title in record-breaking fashion.

Sky Sports News has been told negotiations are close to being concluded on a £200,000-a-week deal, which will keep the 24-year old at the Etihad Stadium until the end of the 2024-25 season.

The new deal would nearly double Silva’s current wages.

Silva previously won league titles in Portugal with Benfica and then in France with Monaco before making the move to England.
