Eko Disco Appoints Wola Joseph-Condotti As Interim CEO

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has appointed Wola Joseph-Condotti as its interim Chief Executive Officer, marking a key leadership transition following a recent change in ownership.

Sources familiar with the development confirmed that Joseph-Condotti assumed the role on Monday, January 12, 2026, after the resignation of the company’s former Chief Executive Officer, Rekhiat Momoh. Her appointment was formally announced on Tuesday, January 13, at a town hall meeting addressed by Engineer Olubunmi Peters, the new Chairman of Eko Disco and Chairman of TransGrid Consortium.

The appointment comes less than two weeks after TransGrid Consortium completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Eko Disco, signalling the beginning of a new phase for one of Nigeria’s largest power distribution companies.

Joseph-Condotti, a seasoned energy executive and legal expert, brings decades of experience in Nigeria’s power sector to the role. Prior to her appointment, she served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Power & Gas Limited, the former parent company of Eko Disco.

She previously spent over a decade at Eko Disco as Chief Legal and Company Secretary, during which she oversaw compliance, regulatory affairs, customer service, human resources and data protection. Industry stakeholders regard her as a respected insider with deep institutional knowledge of the company and the broader electricity market.

Her appointment follows the exit of Rekhiat Momoh, who retired after nearly two years as CEO and more than three decades of service in the Nigerian power sector. In a farewell message to staff, Momoh expressed gratitude as she bowed out of active service.

“As I prepare to step into retirement after 33 remarkable years with this organisation, I do so with immense gratitude and pride. Serving as your CEO has been the greatest privilege of my professional life,” she said.

Momoh, an indigene of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, built a distinguished career across the defunct National Electric Power Authority (NEPA), the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), and Eko Disco. She held several strategic positions, including General Manager (Commercial), Assistant General Manager (Marketing), and District Manager overseeing key business districts such as Orile, Mushin and Apapa.

Her extensive experience in operations, marketing and customer service established her as one of the most accomplished leaders in Nigeria’s power distribution space.

The leadership change marks a significant moment for Eko Disco as it transitions under new ownership. Analysts say the choice of an experienced insider as interim CEO points to a strategy of maintaining operational continuity while TransGrid Consortium implements its transformation agenda.

The development also underscores a growing trend of female leadership in Nigeria’s power distribution sector, with women currently occupying top executive roles at major distribution companies, including Eko Disco and Ikeja Electric.

TransGrid Enerco Limited recently concluded the acquisition of a 60 per cent controlling stake in Eko Disco in a transaction valued at approximately ₦360 billion. The deal, which was initially expected to close by April 2025, was finalised on December 30, 2025, and ranks among the largest private takeovers in Nigeria’s power distribution sector since the 2013 privatisation of the industry.

With Joseph-Condotti’s interim leadership and fresh capital from TransGrid, stakeholders will be watching closely for improvements in operational efficiency, customer service delivery and regulatory compliance as Eko Disco embarks on its next chapter.
