The exchange rate for cargo clearance has once again been increased by the Federal Government through the Central Bank of Nigeria to N1,605/$. Days have passed since the rate increased to N1515/$ and then decreased to N1,472.
Thus far in January, there have been two increases in the rate. In December, it was changed from N952/$ to N1356/$. and before going to N1,444/$, it was moved to N1,413/$. Before ultimately reaching N1.605, the rate went to N1,515.
On Wednesday, our reporter saw that the new tariff was shown on the Nigeria Customs Service website when they visited.
