Rivers State Government has revealed that it has commenced the preliminary process towards the completion of the Kpopie-Bodo City Road, abandoned by Senator Magnus Abe after allegedly collecting over N4 billion from the immediate past administration in the state.
According to a statement by Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media, “The commencement of the preliminary process is in response to a directive by the Rivers State governor, Mr Nyesom Wike to the State Commissioner for Works, Harrison Iheanyichukwu.
“The state Works Commissioner led Ministry Engineers and other professionals from Dantata and Sawoe Construction Firm to take measurements and examine the road for the commencement of work.”
Iheanyichukwu assured that the road will be completed in line with the directive of Governor Wike. He said that all professional steps, equipment and materials will be deployed to the road to ensure that the Kpopie-Bodo City Road was constructed in line with approved specifications and within the necessary time-lines.
Secretary to the State Government, Chief Kenneth Kobani has praised Governor Wike for always living up to his pledges to the Ogoni ethnic nationality.
