The newly appointed Director-General of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), Sule Kazaure, on Thursday said corps members would now be posted to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps across the country for their primary assignments.
The NYSC DG who disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday, in Yola at the Damare IDPs camp, stated that henceforth Youth Corp members will be deployed to all the IDPs camps to help them in their day to day activities. He further stated that the move is to solve the present medical challenges facing the camps.
He also urged Nigerians to complement government efforts in alleviating the sufferings of the IDPs noting that the cruel fate that befell them was not their making.
While flagging off the distribution of food materials and various drugs, General Kazaure commended his predecessor for their efforts in ensuring that the youth Corps members were involved in vocational activities
According to him, the vocational training occasioned the production of 700 bags of locally produced rice which he donated to the displaced persons in the state.
