Trading at the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, on Friday, March 3, caught a break from bear hold as market value jumped by 0.73%.
As such, the All Share Index closed at 25,012.08 points, while market capitalization closed higher at N8.656 trillion, up by N63.2 billion from N8.593 trillion recorded at the close of last session.
Price movement chart showed 16 gainers were paired against 8 gainers led by 7up, with Nestle appreciating by 10.25 percent to close at N628.42 per share, Forte Oil and FBN Holdings came second and third on the gainers list with a growth of 5.09 and 5 percent respectively to close at N51.87 and N3.15 per share.
Vitafoam and Betaglas also grew by 5 percent each to close at N1.89 and N40.18 per share respectively.
Meanwhile, 7up topped the losers chart with a depreciation of 5 percent to close at N95 per share, followed by Custodian and Allied Insurance that dropped 4.69 percent to close at N3.25 per share, United Capital declined by 1.72 percent, to close at N2.85. Dangote Flour declined by 1.35 percent to close at N3.65, while Oando lost 0.80 percent to close at N4.96 per share.
Zenith Bank topped the activity chart with 132.6 million shares worth N1.9 million, Sterling Bank traded 25.4 million shares worth N18.6 million and ETI moved 20.2 million shares at approximately N200 million.
In all, investors exchanged 274 million units of shares in 2,856 deals worth N3.4 billion in contrast to 186 million units of shares in 2,899 deals worth N1.8 billion traded by investors on Thursday.
