Equity trading at the Nigerian stock market sustained a positive run on Thursday, May 19, to boost the market capitalization with N91 billion profits or 0.99 per cent, and closed at N9.283 trillion compared with N9.192 trillion it opened the market.
At the close of the market, trading statistics by the Nigerian Bourse showed that 47 gainers emerged against 17 stocks that closed the market with lower share prices than they opened while 14 other stocks remained unchanged.
While Nestlé Nigeria Plc led the gainers’ camp with N7.50 kobo gain to close at N732.50 kobo per share, Guinness Nigeria Plc topped the losers’ chart as it closed N3.90 kobo lower at N95.10 kobo per share.
In terms of market turnover, investors traded 498.784 million shares valued at N2.732 billion in 4,765 deals as against the 670.803 million units of share worth N2.057 billion traded in 3,976 deals on Wednesday, May 18.
