INEC Declares Alex Otti Winner Of Abia State Election

Alex Otti, who has been named the election's winner of Abia State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commented on his victory in the governor's race last Saturday.

Alex Otti, who has been named the election’s winner of Abia State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commented on his victory in the governor’s race last Saturday.

“Look what the lord has done,” Otti tweeted from his verified Twitter account thanking God for his electoral success.

The Labour Party candidate won by defeating Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who was his main rival.

Ahiwe received 88,529 votes, while 175 467 for the Labour Party candidate.

After the final collation of the governorship election results resumed in Umuahia on Wednesday evening, Prof. Nnenna Nnannaya-Oti, the state’s INEC returning officer, proclaimed Otti the winner.

The compilation of results had been suspended for 48 hours by the election commissioner..
