Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has revealed that he has recruited 200 health workers across professional cadres to strengthen healthcare services in the state.
The governor, represented by the deputy governor, Alhaji Mohammed Ahmed Ketso disclosed this yesterday in Minna at the opening ceremony of Health Summit organised by Health Professional Associations in Niger State.
“We have recently employed over 200 health workers across all the professional cadres in a bid to strengthen healthcare services in the state while alleviating the huge work load currently being experienced by service providers”, he said.
According to him, “Indeed we are committed to improving the welfare and condition of services for health workers because we are convinced that doing so will help our quest for improved efficiency and effectiveness in the system”.
“The planned establishment of a College of Health Sciences at the IBB University, Lapai, is part of the administration’s long term strategy”, he stated.
