The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Idiat Adebule has announced that the Lagos State Government has adopted the 360 Degrees initiative, for public schools in the state.
The 360 Degrees initiative as it is popularly called, is the modern trend in education which refers to the acquisition of functional education and life skills programmes.
Dr. Adebule, said this in Lagos on Tuesday on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of uniformed voluntary organisations in public schools in the state, explaining that 360 Degrees education initiative would boost comprehensive education of students.
She said, “Government will faithfully improve on infrastructure in schools, teaching methods and staff quality, to achieve better performance. It will also introduce technology-based teaching-learning tools for senior pupils.”
Adebule stated that to achieve better education delivery, the cooperation and partnership of all stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and all educational agencies, was imperative.
She said the rejuvenation of uniformed voluntary organisations in public schools in the state was part of the government’s commitment to the provision of a holistic education for pupils.
She however, advised the pupils to continue to be well-behaved, disciplined and concentrate on their studies in order to justify government’s investment in them.
