The Nigerian Equities Market ended Thursday, August 25 trading session on a negative note, after a brief rebound recorded on the bourse on Wednesday.
To this end, Market Capitalisation which is the total market value of all publicly quoted firms on the NSE lost N171.9 billion to close at N9.404 trillion compared to Wednesday’s appreciation of N24.1 billion when the market cap closed at N9.575 trillion.
Market breadth closed negative as CAP led 11gainers against 25Losers led by Skye Bank at the end of Thursday’s trading session. WAPIC led the list of active stocks that recorded impressive volume spike at the end of yesterday’s session.
Market turnover closes negative as volume declined by 6.49% against 26.36% upward trend recorded in the previous session. Diamond Bank, FBNH and UBA were the most active to boost market turnover. While Zenith Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank topped market value list.
