WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging app, is set to roll out enticing new features for iOS and Android users in its latest version.
According to a report that appeared in Phone Radar, the Facebook owned instant messaging platform will be adding support for ‘Call Back’ ‘Voicemail’ and ‘Zip’ files among others.
The Call Back feature will let users return voice calls from contacts at the touch of a button without even opening the app. The button will be placed in the notification pane, alongside the WhatsApp call notifications.
Additionally, the new voicemail feature for iOS users, lets users record voice mails and send to their contacts. The report further suggest the new feature will only pop up for the person calling you when you’re already busy on a voice call within the app.
With Zip Files users have an easier way to transfer large files, which will in turn help in decreasing data usage as well. At the moment, WhatsApp only extends support for formats such as PDF, VCF, DOCX and DOCS.
All the features to be added are currently in a beta testing phase and should launch anytime soon.
The company recently made headlines as it announced its new encryption feature. Encryption ensures that messages can only be read by their intended recipients.
