Pep Guardiola To Deliver Lecture At Liverpool University

Guardiola returns to Camp Nou

Pep Guardiola will deliver a lecture as the keynote speaker of Liverpool University’s annual Edgar Allison Peers Symposium this afternoon, according to..manchestereveningnews.co.uk.

The Manchester City manager will be joined on stage by University academics to consider new movements and the latest research within the discipline of Iberian and Latin American Studies, with particular emphasis placed on sports, politics and culture.

The conversation with Guardiola will be followed by live questions posed by members of a 600-strong audience, with the City boss due to speak between 16.45 and 17.45.

Guardiola is expected to answer questions on a wide range of issues before his attention returns to the Premier League, when City travel to West Ham on Saturday. The Blues sit in top spot of the table with a two-point cushion clear of second-placed Liverpool.

One of the Catalan tutors at the University of Liverpool has a friend from Pep Guardiola’s hometown, Santpedor, who was able to arrange this afternoon’s lecture and it’s safe to say the School of Arts, Language and Cultures here are thrilled to have pulled this event off.

It’s been in the diary since the end of last season, I’m led to believe, and Guardiola will be discussing issues relating to Hispanic sport, politics and culture.

The event will be streamed live, while we will also be bringing you live updates here on the Manchester Evening News.
