Gov Bello Urges Support for Education Sector

Abubakar Sani Bello

Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has stated that the development of education sector in the country needs the support of all Nigerians especially the well to do as government alone cannot do it because the sector is capital intensive.

He stated this in Kontagora during  the 35th Anniversary of Mustafa Comprehensive Schools and the 21st graduation ceremony of the school.

Bello reaffirmed that education remained the foundation for socio-economic and political development of any society, thus the sector is accorded the deserving  priority attention  by his administration.

“This is a sector that requires the support of all, especially the well to do in the society. Education remains the only investment that will always yield fruitful and positive dividends.”

The governor who said,  “education is a capital intensive sector”  stated that such has informed the reason why the well to do individuals in the society  should  join hands with government at all levels to promote and fund education.

“We are conscious of the fact that for our state and indeed Nigeria to develop, deliberate efforts should be made to address and improve the quality and standard of our schools. This explained why this administration has embarked on the whole school rehabilitation project. We have started with six schools and we hope to continue until we are able to restore our schools back to their glorious and conducive stages,” he added.

He decried the neglect the sector suffered over the years and advised that concerted efforts should be made by all concerned to improve the sector in terms of quality and standard. The  proprietor of the school, Colonel Sani Bello (rtd) and father of the governor, said his desire for a better future for generations informed the establishment of the school 35 years ago.
