Chinese Investors Express Interest In Energy,Others

Leader of the delegation and President, Intrazones Energy Services Limited, Alan Rainbird, disclosed when the 20-man delegation paid a courtesy visit on the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim, that a group of Chinese business delegation has expressed investment interest in areas of energy, railway and communication sectors.

Rainbird, who stated that the team, comprising leaders of major companies in China was on tour of Nigeria over the proposed investments, believed the deals would guarantee economic stability and national security in Nigeria.

He hinted that such a large-scale investment would create jobs, generate revenues for both government and individuals, noting that it would address all forms of restiveness emanating from idleness. He said their visit was a follow up to President Mohammadu Buhari’s recent business visit to China.

“Our programme for Nigeria is larger than railway construction. It will bring large-scale permanent employment to the people, it will add value to the nation’s resources and generally address the problems of instability and insecurity. It will also bring down the country’s level of import.

“Investing in railway is an important part of infrastructural programme because it will have ripple effect on all sectors of the economy,” he said.

Rainbird further described his company as one of the leading Chinese companies in railway construction.

Chief Executive Officer, SRSC Company, Mingzh Wang, said the visit of Chinese companies to the country was a sign of their commitment to the business opportunities.
