Breaking News: Aviation workers Suspend Planned Strike

Nigerian Travellers Stranded As Strike Grounds Flights

Aviation employees, represented by the National Union of Air Transport Employees and the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, have called off their strike, which began today, Monday, January 23, 2023.

Frances Akinjole, Deputy General Secretary of ATSSSAN, verified this to Punch over the phone on Monday afternoon.

“It’s been suspended, and they’ve agreed to commence negotiation on the salary issue with us,” he said.

Recall that international flights at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, were grounded on Monday were grounded as workers of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc embarked on the strike.
